Pop Culture Buzz Streaming Music

With the new season of American Idol right around the corner I thought it would fun to post some streaming music by past idol contestants. The American public so far has purchased hundreds of millions of records by the artists posted below. With no end in sight look for this new season of Idol to be bigger than any in the past.

And that would be seriously big!
Some of these singers have gone on to sell unbelievable amounts of c.d.

s; Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken and of course Kelly Clarkson (the biggest of them all). Some other contestants have done just fair; Fantasia, Ruben, Hicks and Chris Daughtry. Daughtry and Hicks have just recently released both of their first c.

d. s in the past two weeks. They may prove to be major stars within the next year if their initial numbers keep up.

In my opinion it is unlikely, but what do I know? I can t stand Underwood or Aiken and they sell big too.
I love Jennifer Hudson, who doesn t have a streaming link (damn!

) and I even like the Kimberly Locke gay dance hit 8th World Wonder . Mario Vasquez, Diana DiGarmo and Latoya London all have failed to make their mark on the music scene, but not for lack of trying sadly enough. I am anxious to see what Katherine McPhee has up her sleeve on her up coming pop album.

I am sure I will review it all on this blog. You will also see a lot of up to date American Idol blog posts here once the new season starts in January of 2007. I will create a new section in the categories section to the right of this page for all the fresh American Idol gossip.

I cannot wait for January!
And once again, for the record, I loathe Clay Aiken but I had to post his streaming song to give a scope of reference for those of you readers who are not familiar with the phenomenon that is American Idol sorry.
I am using this post to let you hear for yourself some of the music that deserves to win Grammy s this year.

But knowing how crazy the Grammy s go they won t win. This year we have an eclectic group of nominees. I actually like the fact that Grammy voters are not going for the traditional crap that can sometimes be shoved down our throats.

For the record, I do not care for some of the voters choices like; Carrie Underwood, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Christina Aguillera or Shakira. I think Nelly Furtado was robbed of a slew of nominations. I liked seeing Zero 7 s The Garden , John Mayer s Continuum , Tom Petty s Highway Companion and The Flaming Lips At War With The Mystics getting some props, they are PERFECT albums!

I am torn in the dance category. Madonna has always been my girl, but this year I am rooting for Goldfrapp. Ooh La La is one of the best pop songs of recent memory.

I am hoping James Blunt won t sweep the awards, although I loved that c.d. before it blew up here in the states, he is now played out.

He has just saturated the world with his handsome looks and girlish falsetto!
Below I have posted some of my favorite nominations! ENJOY!

I'm your average pop whore, star fucker and Burning Man douche bag. This is me in a nut shell..

."help I 'm trapped in a nut shell, ahhhhh!!

!". Really though, I have a high school education, but am sharp as a tack and smarter than your average gay dude.

I come from a highly regarded carnie/hippy/white trash background raised in the ghetto suburb of Fremont (in the SF east bay). I have an unlimited, unchallenged supply of pop culture references, Oscar trivia and just plain useless information. I love to debate politics and people's personal view's on movies I think are shit (any Romantic Comedy, especially if it stars Julia Roberts).
