AP; VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Jan. 3) - In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in "mass killing" late in 2007.
Well you can bet the Lord didn't say nucular either. I always wondered, if God really did decide to actually talk to anybody, why would he choose somebody who's only on cable? Then I realized, if the Virgin Mary and Jesus choose tacos and grilled cheese sandwiches on which to appear, maybe cable makes sense.
After all, God seems to be in the "small, everyday life" business again. I get tons of spam for "Christian Refinancing". I am sorely tempted to apply.
I have to believe actual Christian Refinancing would mean if I am late on the mortgage payment, instead of foreclosure, I would be forgiven. Unless it's Old Testament Christian Refinancing, in which case my home could come tumbling down, my Jacuzzi waters might part, and no doubt I'd be needing a good exterminator. There is also spam from Christian Real Estate agents (Looking for a Real Estate Agent that answers to a Higher Authority?
) Not sure if I'd want to be there for "the closing". I also get spam for "Christian Investing". That one interests me, due to the loaves and the fishes alone.
So, when Pat Roberson talks, it pays to parse his sentences. Here is what I get from his latest prediction: it's hindsight. "A terrorist attack on the United States" (9/11/01) "will result in mass killing late in 2007" (yes, a continuation of the war in Iraq).
He's right.
Do you get the feeling the Lord's having some fun with the Rev? There must be a reason why Robertson continues to make a horse's ass of himself; maybe God figured it's time to play "Wheel O' Lunacy" again.

Flag: [ ] Pat Robertson is delusional. He thinks every stray thought or dream he has is a message from God. To be a prophet you must be correct one hundred percent of the time.
Unfortunately he is right about this one. The entire planet will be destroyed by a nuclear explosion. But it's supposed to happen about twenty billion years from now when our sun dies.
Thanks to Robertson and the mullahs of the world, we are way ahead of schedule. By: sonofabastard on January 03, 2007 at 03:34pm
Flag: [ ] No one cares what some ranting, raving, psychotic drunk standing at a bus stop has to say, so why should anyone care what this pretend Christian says. He is a bigoted, racists, homophobic, hate filled, psycho who hears voices.
Remember this is the same psedo-christian that called for the killing of a legally elected foreign official. Not exactly the qualities that goes with a true man of god.
Besides, no god would waste their time talking to this evil false prophet.
Now if he said that devil was conversing with him on a daily basis...
now this I would believe. By: thromulese on January 03, 2007 at 03:39pm

Flag: [ ] Of course Pat and all his followers are delusional.
There is no god, and religion is large-scale delusion. Pat derives his power from the litany of deceit spewed at the susceptible and intellectually challenged. Not to unlike George Bush; look at his base: truth need not apply, just incitement of fear for the susceptible.
