Sum-up: This year continued the reign of hip-hop/r b/rap genre all over the charts. This is also a year of great comebacks (like Mariah Carey, Weezer, Madonna..

.). A new trend in music appeared as artists open up their family issues more in songs (like Kelly Clarkson's 'Because Of You', Lindsay Lohan's 'Confessions of a Broken Heart').

In the music video field, 2005 has been the year of director Marc Webb who directed so many great videos for My Chemical Romance, The Used, Weezer, Daniel Powter...
