Calgary teammates win CFL weekly awards

Calgary quarterback Henry Burris was named the CFL's offensive player of the week Wednesday after leading the Stampeders to a 32-25 win over the B.C. Lions this past weekend.


Burris completed 21 of 37 passes for 307 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a three-yard touchdown run and finished with three carries for 18 yards to help the Stampeders clinch second place in the CFL's West Division.
Toronto Argonauts' defensive back Byron Parker was named defensive player of the week.


Parker was Toronto's defensive star in their 28-25 victory over the Eskimos. Parker had two interceptions, three tackles and scored a touchdown on a 75-yard interception return.
Parker now has 342 interception return yards this season, breaking Eric Carter's league record of 300 yards, set in 2003 with the B.

C. Lions.
Blue Bombers' defensive lineman Gavin Walls was named lineman of the week.


Walls recorded three sacks and one tackle in a 29-22 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He leads the Blue Bombers with 10 sacks this season.
