Heather Mills McCartney is to sue two newspapers over "false, damaging and immensely upsetting" claims surrounding her divorce from Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney.

According to her lawyers, legal proceedings will be taken up against the London Evening Standard and The Daily Mail.

Lady McCartney's solicitors Mishcon de Reya asked the media to "show some restraint" concerning their client.

According to the BBC, a statement released by them read: "It would appear that the media has concluded that there are no limits to what may be said about, or done to, our client.

"She is stalked by press photographers who congregate outside her home and chase after her in cars - regardless of her safety or the safety of her daughters."

Mishcon de Reya also said that, due to time and resources, Lady McCartney could not sue all the newspapers that have published false or damaging claims, but that this does not constitute an acceptance of them as true.

Thanks to Network DVD, Digital Spy is giving ONE lucky reader the chance to win a copy of the box set.
