Day-use fees will be waived at all state parks in Utah.

Rockport State Park Trail Construction -- Participants will begin construction of a two-mile trail from 9 a.
m. to 1 p.m.

Antelope Island State Park -- Join park staff and help with weed removal, fence repairs, building corrals, rock removal and trash pickup. Camp Floyd/Stagecoach Inn State Park and Museum -- Stagecoach rides, free museum tours, battle re-enactments, Calvary display, Civil War encampment, food, music and entertainment.

The American Red Cross invites community members to participate in a blood drive scheduled for Friday at American Fork Hospital. The event will take place from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. in the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, which will be set up in the hospital's northeast parking lot.
The goal for the drive is 20 units of blood. There is always a demand for blood, so your donation can help make a difference. No appointment is necessary, but identification is necessary.

The City Council has approved a plan to scale down the new fire station. Bids came in at $2.
5 million, but the city's estimate was $1.3 million. It was determined by the council that it should be redesigned to meet the current and reasonable future needs of the operation.
The Lehi Arts Council is sponsoring a series of fall workshops including musical theater, kids cooking, creative crafts, arts and crafts, music and movement, ballroom dance and cake decorating. Cost and age groups vary. For more information, visit www.

The Provo-Timp Lions Club, in support of Provo School District, will present the Music and Family Showcase. The concert will be held at the Historic Provo Tabernacle from 7-8:30 p.
m. Tuesday. There will be performances from pianists, including a 3-year-old pianist, and vocalists.
The entrance fee is a voluntary donation of two pairs of eye glasses or $5 per family.
All donations and glasses will go to orphans in Madagascar. Provo-Timp Lions Club is part of Lions Club International, a charitable organization that primarily works to raise funds and glasses for the Gift of Sight program, helping less fortunate people receive the eye care they need.
In addition to the Gift of Sight program, this Lions Club sponsors two handicap Boy Scout troops. Some of these young men will be presenting the flag at the start of the showcase event.
