Jordan: by the givers of babble on

Before you press play, be warned, my ears are still bleeding. Peter Andre and his buxom wife Jordan gave English viewers an earful recently, when they sang the theme from Aladdin together. A whole new world indeed.

Of horror unheard! The premise behind this er, music video, is to help children in need. Personally, I think the kiddies would be much better off if they never, ever heard such drivel again!

Quite funnily, someone also used a fair bit of artistic license to "enhance" the original recording. So, you must also listen to the God-awful . "Fans" will have the privilege of being able to purchase this single just in time for Christmas.

Don't forget to tell Santa. Whats wrong with the song, sounds OK to me!

  • Louisse, that's what I thought, until I listened to the audio version!

    I am still laughing...

    that is TERRIBLE!!!

    LOL!

  • AHHHHH! I thought the video was cute until I heard the audio version!

  • OK, the song may be pretty schmaltzy, but at least she can sing in tune, harmonise too.

More than I can say for a lot of Australian Idol so-called talent. I'd say Jordan has a BIG BIG future right in front of her (had to put that one in!)

  • Posted by: RichieK at October 17, 2006 11:49 AM
  • We can finally call her flat!

  • Posted by: Bucket at October 17, 2006 11:49 AM
  • I didn't think it was too bad at all. I don't know how anyone reasonable can call that awful.
There must be haters among us!

  • Posted by: Johnny at October 17, 2006 11:50 AM
  • Louisse, have a listen to the 'God-awful audio version' and you will understand. That audio engineer
    is a freakin' genuis.
  • Posted by: geoff at October 17, 2006 11:50 AM
  • No!

Surely not!Has the UNHCR or UNICEF been notified?Peacekeepers should be deployed immediately.

This is cruelty on an unimaginable scale!

  • Posted by: cj at October 17, 2006 11:51 AM
  • listen to the audio version..

    . it's A LOT worse..

. it sounds like someone trying to sing kareoke pissed in their toilet. Knowing the English (and before anyone says i'm pommy bashing, I'm English myself), it'll probably become number one sooner rather then later.

    .. it's terrible.

  • Posted by: kiriakoz at October 17, 2006 11:54 AM
  • I thought thats beautiful, whats wrong with people, but then I listened to the audio version, oh dear thats a shocker lol I can't sing to save myself and I could do a better job then that!!!

    !!

  • Posted by: Angel at October 17, 2006 11:57 AM
  • I think you are being a bit harsh Michelle - I didn't think it was too bad.

  • Posted by: Tony at October 17, 2006 12:02 PM
  • I think it was really great. there was nothing wrong with it, she's no mariah carey, but she sounded great to me, cut them some slack.
She's not the classiest person in the world, but i'm sure she's a nice person.

But damn, Peter has put on so much weight.

  • Posted by: josephine at October 17, 2006 12:03 PM
  • Oh wow..

..the pneumatic drill outside my window putting in the piles sound soooo soothing.

    ...

    Seriously...

Peter and Jordan are made for each other ! All looks and not much else !

  • Posted by: TS at October 17, 2006 12:03 PM
  • Surely they can not be serious?

!? Is there a candid camera hiding somewhere?

? Perhaps the "extra weight" Jordon carries has put her slightly off balance and affected her hearing!!

    What a crap up!!

  • Hi it's me again, Josephine
I take that back, Jordan sucked.

I listened to the audio and boy that was bad.
I didn't realise you could enhance that much, it changed my whole view.
Are you sure that's not another girl singing it to take the piss out of her.

At least she tried and did it for a good cause. She was very brave.
    Way to go Jordan.

  • I'm still waiting peter andre.

  • Posted by: Jaclyn at October 17, 2006 12:13 PM
  • Cut them some slack!? Are you seriously listening to the same audio track as the rest of us, or do your ears need cleaning.

If they put that track on a Xmas album, they should be charged with being a public nuisance.

  • Posted by: AiB at October 17, 2006 12:16 PM
  • OMG, why is Peter Andre with trash? So wrong.

Jordan, get yourself some acid and drink it! You would sound much better when you do..

    .

  • Posted by: Ih8JOrdan at October 17, 2006 12:17 PM
  • IT is AMAZING. It deserves a number 1 spot.

    She is so hot.

  • RichieK:"but at least she can sing in tune, harmonise too"
  • Posted by: cj at October 17, 2006 12:19 PM
  • Dear God! I saw the youtube clip and I was going to say something about the Sanctimonious and how they walk among us.

But after listening to the audio version...

The sound engineer deserves a nuzzle in Jordan's breasts for how he helped her (or is that my wishful thinking). She just can't sing! I need a drink to try and forget that aweful sound.

  • Posted by: Ross Carroll at October 17, 2006 12:20 PM
  • It was fine - So what? They put a bit of auto tune on Jordan to safeguard the live show. We are quick to be critical of them but have you heard half the crap on the worlds idol shows.

The difference is Jordan's not a singer. Have you heard the Enrique Iglesias live recording that serviced a while back? Now, that was revolting.

Have you heard the real recordings of how bad Delta is live?

  • Posted by: d at October 17, 2006 12:21 PM
  • So wrong at so many levels..

    .
Sounds like a cat being strangled to me..

    .

  • Posted by: allison at October 17, 2006 12:22 PM
  • Videos don't work at work but the audio track does. (OG the pain the pain) I managed to listen for almost 2 secs of Jordan before I ripped my headphones off.

My cat sings better and he's dead.

  • Posted by: Tony2 at October 17, 2006 12:24 PM
  • Why? thats all I can say.

.. why on earth would anyone in their right mind set themselves up for such incredible ridicule and embarrassment?

I don't think I've heard anyone sing worse!

  • Posted by: KS at October 17, 2006 12:24 PM
  • Josephine,
Ever heard avril lavigne sing live? Jordan is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to enhancement!

  • Posted by: ks at October 17, 2006 12:28 PM
  • So is the 'audio version' the vocals that Jordan recorded before they were computer enhanced? Because if they are, the technology must be incredible!
  • Posted by: Clueless at October 17, 2006 12:29 PM
  • Just listened to the audio version.

    ..oh dear.

..I take back what i wrote earlier.

..it sounds like a different girl singing, video must have been re-dubbed, or the audio or was re-done to make her look bad.

    ..

  • Posted by: richiek at October 17, 2006 12:29 PM
  • This is probably worse than singers who can't sing live properly.

Mainly because Jordan sang that in a studio where all the conditions to produce good singing would have been optimal. I think the main problem a lot of singers have when they sing live is that they try to move around too much and get breathless, can't hear themselves properly etc.
Someone mentioned Delta before -- I went to one of her concerts and the main trouble she had was that trying to move around made her breathless and she had trouble holding her notes and finishing her words.

  • Posted by: jc at October 17, 2006 12:38 PM
  • Its not bad.
Both at trashy and tacky, did it for the publicity. Just concerned with all that coke suntanning, some of it might rub off into the white suite Pete was wearing.

Hang on, why I am even bothering to comment. There are so many better things to look at. Pity Jordan didnt show us.

i thought she wasn't bad in the video until the other version - sorry jordan that was definitely not a goer.

  • Video ok.

    Audio bad - very bad

  • Posted by: dg at October 17, 2006 01:07 PM
  • In the audio, who was who? One of them sounds like they've had a blood nose and stuffed tissues up their nostrils. While together, they sound like a pack of hyenas fighting over a giselle carcass.

  • Posted by: craig at October 17, 2006 01:13 PM
  • What's wrong with it? I thought it sounded OK. At least they weren't singing through their noses like a lot of singers do these days.

The voice is supposed to come right up from the diaphragm not from the back of the throat so it comes out like a squeak.

  • Posted by: Jonathon at October 17, 2006 01:18 PM
  • Hey - it may have been cheesy, but they sang really well! Seeing Aladin was the first date I had with my wife, and I certainly raise my glass to the guy who gets to sing any romantic song to Jordan - better still his wif jordan :-)

  • Posted by: Deb at October 17, 2006 01:22 PM
  • Hmmm, perhaps those who think it's alright are completly glossing over and not even attempting to hear the audio version?

I heard about 30 seconds of part of it this morning on the radio, and actually thought it was the worst entrant in a radio station-run karaoke competition being played. OMG, how wrong was I. It was actually a 'serious' track!

Thankfully they didn't subject us to too much - I think I was so paralysed that I couldn't even change the station!

  • Posted by: K at October 17, 2006 01:31 PM
  • Wow. That audio is so bad I'm beginning to think it was doctored/re-recorded specifically to ridicule Jordan.

There are a lot of net nerds out there with too much free time and so much imagination. I'd like to hear one of Britney or Christina's songs ripped to shreds like that. Well, about 20 seconds worth, just so I can have a laugh but not so I can do my head in.

  • Posted by: Sarah at October 17, 2006 01:33 PM
  • Oops - i just listened to the unenhanced version...

Eeeuw! I repent - Peter, whats wrong with you??

    ?

  • Posted by: Marshall at October 17, 2006 01:36 PM
  • The video version 'sounds' ok because the accompanying music or instrument is the same if not louder than the voice plus if you are watching as well as listening you tend to miss the bad notes. Once you listen to the audio only, you can tell the bad phrasing and intonation.

Overall, its backyard karaoke class but with a little bit of training, she can improve albeit limited due to her tinny voice (like Kylie Minogue).

  • Posted by: LeoA at October 17, 2006 01:41 PM
  • Jordan makes Peter sound like he can sing! LOL!

  • Posted by: RedFox at October 17, 2006 01:45 PM
  • um, most are the people on idol are this bad you realise?
  • Posted by: Johnny at October 17, 2006 01:49 PM
  • Johnny- that's why I don't watch Idol :) Bit of a waste of time. Although surely none could compare to Jordan in the horror factor?

  • Posted by: K at October 17, 2006 01:58 PM
  • He is supposed to be a professional singer and he sounds terrible. As far as she is concerned: my cockatoo started screeching and it sounded better than her..

    .

  • Posted by: Ysolda at October 17, 2006 02:05 PM
  • Wow. The comparison between the video and the audio only track should be mandatory for Aus Idol viewers.

It just shows how little talent you need to sound any good. I had no idea the technology existed, and I think Peter needs to be congratulated for being able to stay in tune while standing next to her! See?

    YouTube helps save the world!

  • Posted by: Guran at October 17, 2006 02:14 PM
  • OMG! im speechless.

    ...

. All i have to say is why? WHY?
