LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Jermaine Dupri, singer Janet Jackson s main squeeze, is reportedly out as head of urban music at Virgin Records in Los Angeles.
Fox.

com cited sources Saturday as saying Dupri was paying the price for disappointing sales of Jackson s new CD "20 Y.O.," the last album on her Virgin contract.

Dupri got a chunk of the credit for Mariah Carey s monster comeback album "The Emancipation of Mimi," but the plan to cast Jackson, 40, as a hip-hop artist failed to register with the teenage market, Fox.com said.
Virgin boss Jason Flom has cleared the decks for an overhaul of the urban music department, the report said.
