TORONTO -- From high-class hooker to battered wife? The mud continues to splatter as leaked divorce papers have Heather Mills crying that Paul McCartney stabbed her with a broken wine glass, abused drugs and booze, and became possessive of her breasts when she tried to nurse their newborn, Britain's Daily Mail reported yesterday. Mills, 38, and the 64-year-old former Beatle separated in May after a four-year marriage.
The explosive claims reportedly surfaced in court documents filed by Mills in response to McCartney's July divorce petition. Lawyers wouldn't confirm their authenticity. As with summer headlines that Mills once worked as a prostitute and posed for racy pictures, the latest allegations are another low in the divorce drama.
In the documents, Mills alleges the former Beatle once forced her to cancel leg surgery because it would have disrupted his vacation plans. Mills had part of her left leg amputated after a 1993 traffic accident. The shocking papers - also published on entertainment website TMZ.
com - claim McCartney pestered Mills into not breastfeeding their daughter arguing "they are my breasts" and at another time, "I don't want a mouthful of breast milk." "Even when (Mills) had a broken pelvic plate in December 2003 (McCartney) insisted that she cook for him while she was on crutches, could barely move and was in agony." "Our client would very much like to respond in public and in detail to the allegations made recently against him by his wife and published in the press but he recognizes, on advice, that the only correct forum for his response to the allegations made against him is in the current divorce proceedings," read the statement released yesterday.
McCartney allegedly showed a disregard for Mills's amputation, forcing her to drag herself to the washroom at night - when her prosthetic limb wasn't on - rather than allow her to keep a bedpan in the room, arguing a bedpan would make him feel like he was in "an old woman's home." In the last days of the couple's union, McCartney poured wine on Mills's head before breaking the glass and slashing her arm, she reportedly claims. The next day, McCartney allegedly refused to help with their daughter and instead went drinking.
"That evening (Mills) realized the marriage had irretrievably broken down and left, crawling on her hands and knees whilst dragging her wheelchair, crutches and basic personal possessions to the car," the documents read. In June, News of the World alleged Mills hid a sordid past from McCartney that included working as a $10,000-a-night prostitute and engaging in lesbian and group sex with wealthy Arabs.
