Tumhe Chahte Hain, Dil Lena Khel Hai, Aye Meri Zohra Jabeen, Yeh Mera Dil and Chhoti Si Asha. We're talking about DJ Sunny Sarid who's also well-known for his friendship with the late Jessica Lall. During a recent visit to the city, Kanpur generated in the past few months, what does he think about the case?
Sarid is quick to respond, "It was really unfortunate and painful for all of us. Jessica was a good friend and her death was a really an unfortunate incident. How can one even imagine that a simple refusal for serving a drink can take one's life?
Life is very precious and nobody has the right to kill. Jessica's killers should be severely punished. The acquittal of the accused was absolute non-sense and I praise the good job done by the media in getting the case re-opened.
I hope this received a good response only in places like Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong, but now things have begun to change in India too. People in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata love to rock," says the man who has been the winner of Gandhi, Best DJ award presented by MTV and the Best Indian Club DJ award by his talent, Sarid's magical touch does not remain confined to music alone for he's also an entrepreneur. That apart, we haven't seen him doing too many Bollywood projects.
Why's that? "At the moment, I'm enjoying my life. Instead of concentrating on Bollywood projects, I prefer doing live shows because I don't want to go and beg producers and directors for projects.
