Prague, Dec 28 (CTK) - Members of the Prague National Theatre (ND) orchestra and the opera ensemble told CTK today that they do not agree with the criticism of acting director Jan Mrzena by ND actors who call for his immediate dismissal.
The actors called on outgoing Culture Minister Martin Stepanek on Wednesday to sack Mrzena, and cancel the present competition for the post of director and declare a new competition.
The open letter addressed to Stepanek was signed by 80 percent of the drama actors, or 39 of them.
The signatories threatened to go on strike alert if their demands were not met. The actors do not like the methods of management Mrzena applies.
However, the members of the opera and orchestra form a majority of the theatre artistic troupe.
