ADAM WITH MUSIC MONDAY AND OSWALDO REVIEWS BOBBY 5am to 10am PST, November 27, 2006
Good morning Big Ta oh, wait, Big Tad isn t here? Adam chuckles, and adds that Big Tad called in and said that not only did he forget to set his alarm, but his car won t start. Either you aren t coming in, or you are, Adam says don t make excuses.

Brusca is out today as well, because his wife had their baby Maxwell over the weekend.
Big Tad gets on the line. It s his fault that he forgot to set his alarm, but it s not his fault that his car won t turn over.

I just called AAA and I ll be there as soon as I can. Adam tells Tad that he wouldn t have even noticed, except that he didn t get his bottled water this morning.
Everybody, meaning family and friends, was over at Adam s for Thanksgiving this past weekend.

His family is notorious for showing up early to things, and this was no exception. When Adam tells people to show up at Noon, he generally gets ready to receive them right before then. With his family though, they always seem to show up 7 to 12 minutes early which is that sweet spot where Adam and his wife are running around trying to get ready.

Early starts aside though, Adam s Thanksgiving went according to plan, and nobody complained.
From this, Adam did learn a life lesson, and he wants to share it with everyone. Throw a party like this at least once or twice a year.

It will force you to get your act together. That box of garbage sitting around? It will disappear.

It s like a guy s car on date night it gets clean as a whistle.
Adam takes calls from listeners who have holiday horror stories, including a man who went to a Thanksgiving party with no beer, and no football just Christian music. This spins Adam into a frenzy.

If you have a lifestyle, he says, where you don t drink, or you don t watch football, understand that it s your lifestyle only. People coming to your house shouldn t have to deal with these restrictions as well. There s too much we don t going on at house parties.

Yeah, I know you don t, Adam emphasizes, but we do. Your kids don t drink soda; they re seven years old, and miserable. I m 42, and I like my soda.

Where s my soda?
Teresa and Dave cover the news and sports.
This past weekend, Adam actually went 4 and 0 in the picks for the weekend.

He ll be spinning the wheel this week. Adam currently owes Dave over nine thousand dollars. They spin the wheel, and it comes up at one thousand dollars shaving a grand off of the nine he owes.

Adam replays his interview with Vice President Al Gore from last week.
In the grand tradition of the Carolla Show, it s Music Monday. And this week s topic is drug music.

There s no regulations on this stuff, Adam says it can be songs that make you feel like you re on drugs, or maybe they are about drugs, or maybe the people who made the songs were on drugs.
Adam s list is an endeavour to bring songs to the people that they ve never heard before, he says, and he includes things like the Electric Prunes, and Ted Nugent s old band. Teresa chimes in with a cover of Gin and Juice by a band called The Gourds.

Dave s contribution is by the Beastie Boys, which Adam contends is a very over-rated band. Of course, this list would be incomplete without a song by The Doors, which Adam tosses in with This Is The End. There s no drug references in this song, Adam says, but you do feel like you re on drugs when you hear it.

Teresa s second choice is a Chris Christofferson song, which was released posthumously she makes the list because she died of an overdose, and this song came out after that happened. Adam s number two is some Curtis Mayfield, with Who s Your Man
Some listeners call up with their drug songs, including a little Steppenwolf, and of course, Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix.
Finally, the number one songs.

First up is Teresa s number one drug song. She briefly thought about going with Billy Joel s Captain Jack, but instead, she went with a cover of Pink Floyd s Comfortably Numb. Dave s is a repeat of one of last weeks manly songs, a Johnny Cash number.

As a bonus, he kicks in a little Frank Zappa. Adam s bonus track is Lord Sitar covering a song by The Who, and his number one is Kenny Rogers.
Oswaldo Castillo, the show s resident movie reviewer, is in studio to talk about the film Bobby.

They call it donating when a woman sells her eggs, Adam says, but it s not really a donation. They give you an amount of money based on your traits, he adds. So, Adam wants to put a price on some listeners eggs.

Teresa and Dave recap the news and sports.
Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC s late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! , comes on the line.

He s up in Seattle for Monday Night Football, which will be airing on ESPN tonight. He ll be on the pre-game show, and during the second quarter. Adam wonders if he ll do something controversial see how many shots he can do between the pre-game and the second quarter.

That ll be great, Jimmy says, for my last ever appearance on television.
