Kansas City, Mo. - infoZine - The Great American Trailer Park Musical, music and lyrics by David Nehls, book by Betsy Kelso, opens December 1, 2006 at Unicorn Theatre. This riotous look at life on the other side of the tracks is directed by Cynthia Levin with musical direction by Anthony T.

Edwards.
The Village Voice hailed The Great American Trailer Park MusicalL as "A show that actually lives up to the hype of its title."
The New York Post said, "Adultery, strippers, murderous ex-boyfriends, Costco and the Ice Capades.

Undeniable fun!"
Welcome to Armadillo Acres, Northern Florida 's most exclusive manufactured housing community. Betty, Lin (short for Linoleum) and Pickles, the double wide divas, lead us on a wild ride of press-on nails and pink lawn flamingos.

Also in residence is Jeannie, an agoraphobic housewife who finds comfort spending her days lounging on the couch watching Oprah and Dr. Phil. Her toll booth operator husband Norbert, frustrated with his wife's depressive state, visits the local strip club where he becomes taken with stripper on the run, Pippi who just moved into the trailer across the yard.

Pippi has a past and her Oklahoma City ex-boyfriend Duke, who's addicted to sniffing magic marker fumes, is determined to seek her out and win her back. What makes the silliness so fun is that the writers, Nehls and Kelso, never look down on the characters or the trailer park lifestyle. The Great American Trailer Park Musical serves as a humorous and poignant look at life on the other side of the tracks.
