It's a standard problem at outdoor luxury events. You are sipping champagne, wandering around beautiful grounds and then nature calls. There they are, like a blight upon the landscape, the portable toliets.

, has the right idea about luxury loos. Igloo provides well-designed movable toilets that include artwork, Molton Brown consumables and paper hand towels. Igloos has done a variety of high-profile events, including Live*, the Brit Awards, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the Stella Artois Tennis Tournament, the G-8 Summit and the Volvo Golf Masters in Andalucia, Spain.

Hopefully we will be seeing an upgrade in portable toilets at U.S. events in the future.

1. It's not the toilets so much as the nasty, sub-human animals who leave urine puddles on the seats and toilet paper on the floor and who don't flush.

What kind of trash doesn't clean up behind themselves? Upgrade that and I'll be happy.
2.

meg is right. i've been to many concerts and the only reason i hold off on using the porto-john is because people are disgusting.
3.

very weird
4. yeah, it doesn't matter if you gold plate the entire interior, when there are that many people using the same facility it's going to get messy-it's Inevitable.
5.

I been in Construction for 30+ years, and the worst port-a-johns I have ever seen were at a Tufts University Graduation !! The more refined the behind, the messier the seat !

!
6. People need to stop being so nasty in bathrooms in general.

The problem is prevalent not only in portapotties but in public bathrooms as well. Even at universities. You'd think an institute for higher learning people would be cleaner and more hygienic.

Nope! How hard is it to flush the toilet after you use it??

?
7. makes you wonder what these "sub-human" animals so called people's john looks like at home!

Doesn't that make them on the same level as animals? How would a porta potty manage to give people class if they don't have any to being with!?

??
8.

Funny, I have been to all kinds of events Country concerts, heavy metal, plays, festivals, church meetings and the cleanest port-O-Johns I ever used was at biker events. Makes you wonder?
9.

thats tight
10. As a consequence of conspicuous consumption, another "great" achievement for mankind? I wonder how many of the world's truly needy people without any sanitation at all would rave over this invention?

11. I have worked for many wealthy individuals and folks with considerable resources. Most of these well-to-do give filth a new deminision.

It is absoulutely incredible with all the disease in the world that intelligent, enlightened and superior thinking folks would be soooo nasty. Unbelievable.
12.

This is going to sound racist as hell but its not meant to be but DAMNIT, Mexicans, and im talking old school, old world, straight from across the border, Mexicans DO NOT believe in flushing the damn toilet. Not only do they not flush but for some reason they throw dirty toilet paper, tampons, and everything else on the floor BESIDE the toilet instead of IN the toilet. I mean c'mon.

Ive heard that the reason is because they dont have a good running water system in Mexico but still how hard is it to make the mental transition. Its common damn sense! If you find yourself using a REAL toilet with REAL running water then put your used toilet paper INSIDE the toilet and FLUSH the damn thing!

C'mon man, sheeeesh! Everyone living in Southern and Central California will most likely feel me on this.
13.

Right on Tracy Myers! I annually attend an event held in the Colorado Rockies, miles from any town, attended by 150 men, who stay there for 3 days, and use porta potties (ones with solar LED lights in the ceiling for night-time use). I have never had an unpleasant surprise at these events.

The "redneck" men who attend these events apparently know about cleaning up after themselves.
14. Remember the self-cleaning loos that were tried in NYC?

They were located right on the sidewalk and immediately after the user exited, the whole area was washed down from inside and quick-dried. During this time, the loo was locked so nobody would drown. And when it was reopened, it was clean and just like new.

Why not try those - and how come NYC got rid of them, anyway?
Recently, I was at the air races in Reno. They had toilets with gold trim, sinks with gold faucets.

They were very fancy out houses. By the way, They had attendants keeping them clean. Guess what nationality.

16. I am an unfortunate kind that I am short and cant "hover" over a seat. I also have an intestinal problem that demands attention when IT wants.

I try to avoid those public toilets and port a potties at all cost. Wish I could, but cant. I ALWAYS wipe the seat prior to doing my business because I dont want to sit in someone elses pee!

That is just GROSS!!!

! What happened to"if you sprinkle when you tinkle, be sweet and wipe the seat!"
17.

I have learned to LOVE some of the toilets I have found that have that rotating plastic wrap that when you flush, it changes. Makes me feel safe everytime!
18.

I was on a flight Hong Kong - L.A., full of Chinese and the tiny toilet room floors were awash in urine.

Couldn't drop my trousers to sit down. People are disgusting ..

. is this how they behave in China? Why do we let them into the USA?

???

???

??
My friend is a nurse she once told me that if EVERY woman would SIT on the seat do their business not try straddle the seat, where Pee gets all over, it would be a cleaner enviroment, you know who you are, AND if you do use a paper cover for the seat, please don't leave it there for me to move, you flush it away.

20. I would rather pee behind a tree than in any portable toilet. I have been accused of being Howard Hughes with my handwashing habits.

I have lived and traveled all over the US in my fifty one years. I am amazed how many people go to the restroom and fail to wash their hands. I wash my hands twice and sing Happy Birthday to you in my brain.

That's how long it takes to kill germs. My late Grandmother taught me and my two older children that cleanliness was next to Godliness. I have taught my three younger children the same.

Urine is a body fluid so I don't blame anyone for not sitting on the seat. I would prefer that they don't have seats and make a device similar to a bedet to wash the top of the toilet. I carry baby wipes and antibacterial cleaner on the road.

We are going to buy a motor home or trailer so we no longer have to mess with the germs of our fellow man. I wish more Moms would teach their children better sanitary habits. I have been to the home of friends and searched all over to find hand washing soap just to find it in the shower.

I would prefer not to eat meals in their homes. I love people but don't want to share their germs. When you eat in my home your geting a healthy meal germ free.
