AUSTIN, Texas -- With the goal of providing "influential amusement" in their industry, a group of 48 met last week as the founding members of the Faith-Based Amusement Association (FBAA). The group gathered during the recent International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions convention.
The association includes individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, including owners, managers, employees, architects, engineers, designers, vendors, faith-based companies, developers, consultants, churches and more.
One of the association's goals is to encourage members to use their facilities and careers not just to entertain people temporarily, but to permanently influence people's lives.
"We take great pleasure in sharing our faith and praying with all of our employees," says Johnny Blevins of Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Canton, Texas. "Second, we have some of our favorite Bible verses around the park and play Christian music all the time.
