n On Oct. 21, Bryzy Woodruff had a Halloween party with about 30 of her friends and family in attendance.
In addition to refreshments and a hayride, they broke up into small groups for a scavenger hunt with a twist.
Knowing that the first annual Bedias Food Drive was coming up, Bryzy decided to do something to help the community while still having fun.
With lists in hand, the groups hit the streets in search of food.
The food was delivered to the Bedias Civic Center on Nov. 4 for the Bedias Food Drive.
They also had a costume contest which included a heavy metal rock group with manager and groupie included, the UniBomber, the blushing bride, 3-year-old Irony McBride, who took first place, Tiffany Jackson as the big baby taking second place and Brittany Pell as the blood donor taking third place.
They would like to thank all the neighbors they contacted that night for being so generous.
n The first Grimes County Food Drive gathered quite a bit of food, as well as generous cash donations for the Bedias Food Pantry. Members of Bedias United Methodist Church were set up at the Bedias Civic Center, the Shiro Store and the Corner Store in Roans Prairie from 8 a.
m. to 2 p.m.
