for Vegas Poker News.. Composer/lyricist Jerry Herman, the man behind such musicals as Hello Dolly!, La Cage Aux Folles, Mame, Parade, Mack and Mabel, and many others, will be in town for a concert and seminar at UNLV's Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall.

Sponsored by the ASCAP Foundation, the Jerry Herman Legacy Series runs Oct. 19-21. In addition to the concert/seminar by Herman, master classes will also be offered in musical theater performance.

In 1999, Herman was commissioned by Steve Wynn to write a Broadway-style musical for The Mirage called Miss Spectacular. It was never ultimately produced, but you can catch some of the songs during the concert.
Ticket prices are $35, $50, and $80 and can be purchased at the UNLV Performing Arts Center Box Office and .
