WASHINGTON, DC: Say hello to ClipBandits, the world?s first rock band created on the Web, for the Web and by Web junkies who have neither met each other nor know each others? names.

Their platform: YouTube.com. Their first video: ?

Direction?. Date added: October 14, 2006.

Total views so far: Almost 7 lakh.
ClipBandits has three members who go only by their YouTube registration names ? ?

J-Pe$o? plays 12-string guitar and is the singer, ?The One and Only Girl Bass Player?

plays the bass guitar, while ClipBandit plays the electric guitar. A drummer, ActionJackson, has since been added. ClipBandits spoke to DNA about their virtual band:
How did you all meet?

We only met via YouTube. It started by me projecting one of J-Pe$o?s YouTube clips on the wall of my music room and jamming along to it.

It was from the success of that video clip that I had the idea to start an entire web band.
How did you mix videos?
?

The One And Only Girl Bass Player? and ?J-Pe$o?

recorded their parts using their web cams, sent them to me via the ClipBandits channel on YouTube. I synced them for timing on a Mac PowerBook G4, displayed their videos on the monitors you see in my music room and I played live to their parts and captured it all on my camera. I shot it on a Sony 3 chip digital video camera.

After we shot the first take, my camera died. So we had to go with our first take and that is what you see in the video.
Are you aware where each of you stays?

By the time we completed our video, we came to be aware that we all live in the US. J-Pe$o is in New York; The One and Only Girl Bass Player lives in the LA area; and I, ClipBandit, live in Austin, Texas. We have since added a drummer, ActionJackson, who lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
