Southwest Florida Addiction Services is hosting an open house and dedication at 3 p.m. on Wednesday for community members to see the new Zonta Learning Center in Fort Myers that will help women get their GEDs, a job or both.

The center, paid for with a $15,000 gift from the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva, will help women recovering from substance abuse at SWFAS's Transitional Living Center learn job skills to succeed in the workplace.
The center will provide the women with computers, software and training to develop computer and office skills, including typing and basic bookkeeping. There will also be help with resume writing and online job searches and a GED prepatory program.

SWFAS expects the new center to help about 40 women each year.
SWFAS is the oldest substance abuse treatment program in Southwest Florida. Since 1980, it has helped more than 63,000 people in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.

The Transitional Living Center houses 17 women and 22 men recovering from substance abuse.
The Zonta Learning Center, which is based in the Transitional Living Center, is located at 2517 Dixie Parkway in Fort Myers.
