Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds are releasing The Abattoir Blues Tour, a two-DVD set to be issued on Jan. 29. The live set contains two live concerts taken from the band's 2003 and 2004 tour supporting Abattoir Blues and The Lyre Of Orpheus.
According to Cave's official , Disc One is culled from a Nov. 11, 2004 performance at London's Brixton Academy. Meanwhile, Disc Two is from a June 7, 2003 performance from London's Hammersmith Apollo during the group's Nocturama tour.
As well as the two live concerts, the DVD will also include bonus footage. All of the promotional videos from the last two albums will be included as well as behind-the-scenes footage shot by Bad Seeds guitarist Mick Harvey during the creation of the band's "Bring It On" video.
In addition to this release, there will also be a limited edition version "Deluxe Box" available containing a bonus two-CD set composed of live recordings culled from the 2004 Abattoir Blues tour.
The recordings will also be available as digital downloads.
Some tracks on the two CDs include "O Children," "The Weeping Song," "Red Right Hand," "Let The Bells Ring" and "God Is In The House."
Cave, who is slated to perform at next year's All Tomorrow's Parties in Britain, recently completed a string of solo dates.
He is also busy with a new side project featuring himself, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos entitled Grinderman. Dubbed as "foul-mouthed, noisy, hairy and damn well old enough to know better," the group are giving fans of taste of their sound through their with the song "No Pussy Blues." The band worked with producer Nick Launay in April and are releasing its debut album in March.
