NEW YORK, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The Eagles are close to inking a deal with Wal-Mart discount chain stores of Bentonville, Ark., giving Wal-Mart exclusivity on future releases.

The deal is expected to close before Wal-Mart s meeting for financial analysts and large investors, Daily Variety reported.
The Eagles are expected to perform for Wal-Mart execs at Nokia Theater Tuesday. They will also perform Monday at the Rainbow Room at the Rockefeller Center for a party being thrown by film executives Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

The Eagles, who are currently unsigned, have been rumored to be recording for the past several months. Variety said the band will likely release its next album via Wal-Mart.
The group has not released an all new studio album since 1979 s "The Long Run.

"
Wal-Mart has recently announced environmental initiatives like renewable energy. Don Henley, a founding member of the Eagles, is a longtime environmental activist.
