Santa Monica s now giving out prizes for green lit!
Almost a year ago, the City of Santa Monica cut the ribbon to its solar-panel-topped, low-VOC-paint-wearing . Now, the Santa Monica Public Library wants to encourage sustainability within its silver-LEED-certified walls by encouraging green literature. Today, the the , created to encourage and commend authors, illustrators, and publishers who produce quality books that make significant contributions to, support the ideas of, and broaden public awareness of sustainability.
Four Green Prizes one each in Adult Fiction, Adult Nonfiction, Youth Fiction, and Youth Nonfiction categories will be awarded in September 2007.

Action Step VII: Spread the word in Los Angeles!
We need to get the word out and people into theaters. The materials at our disposal: Posters, postcards, and java jackets. The question: What ideas do you have for getting the word out using the above materials?
So far, the SAJE let us put Black Gold stuff all over the Just Holidays Marketplace event and even used some of the java jackets for the Remy Sol coffee :)
Do you have an event where we could distribute some of this stuff and spread the word?
