The proverbial broken record continues to spin Don t Fence Me In! while Hollywood eschews the traditional limo or hummer in favor of hybrids the Toyota Prius. Ok, who brought the hummer?
Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive to give the night a lime flavor; while also honoring environmental activist Laurie David. Kennedy at Glamour s 17th annual awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall.

Seriously, whoever is in charge of marketing over at Toyota deserves a raise. I ve rarely seen such a successful campaign to get celebrities gaga about driving a car for under $30K.

I was planning on covering this MTV Walmart story this week not because I ve heard any celebrity names associated with it, but because I figured MTV is a celebrity in itself. The reports that Everyday Green, a unique joint initiative designed to promote sustainability and demonstrate to consumers how to work environmentally-friendly products into their lives, would be on display at the through November 10.
Sounds great, right?
Well, our friends over at eco.psfk are saying that it s all a bunch of greenwashing.
Read their comments and see their comprehensive photos over at . Here is a quick taste:
If there s one thing we like about MTV it s that they have an agenda - but this exhibition isn t MTV voicing their concerns - it s a marketing ploy waving a tiny green flag.
The space is scarce of anything with depth.
Most of the advice is on changing your lightbulb to a more efficient one. There are some displays on the wall promoting green products that Walmart sells and an apparently green Toshiba laptop. At the back of the cafe, six big screens blast all day long a promo for the Inconvenient Truth and a wave of Toshiba laptops shine down all day long on top of you.
Readers, have you been to the store? What do you think? Also, I kind of got started blogging over at and search around in their old posts and you ll see some of my earlier work !
This very special evening will take place at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Thursday, November 9. The evening will entail a cocktail hour, seated dinner, photo exhibit and silent auction. The hallmark of the night will be extraordinary live performances by Alicia Keys, David Bowie, Angelique Kidjo, and more exciting artists.

Scheduled to attend: Julianne Moore, Matt Dillon, Marisa Tomei, Naomi Watts, Hillary Swank, Drew Barrymore and others. Come for the kids, leave with a condo.
Interesting marketing idea.
Hold a celeb-studded (press-worthy) fundraiser (good for all), in a home that you are selling (clever).
