Saffron Walden Golf Club held their annual Captain's Drive In on Sunday, as the appointment of new captains David Watts and Rosalind Lowe, was celebrated in the traditional style.
Serenaded to the sounds of Swing Low Sweet Chariot, the new captains arrived at the first tee in decorated buggies.
Passionate Arsenal supporter David Watts, who lives in Stansted, has been a member for 23 years, served on various club committees over a period of nine years and has a handicap of 11.
Rosalind Lowe has been a member for six years, has a handicap of 22 and before retirement, she was headteacher of Katherine Semar school in Saffron Walden.
The day was a great success, with David driving 195 yards and Rosalind driving 146 yards. Following the Drive Ins, a mixed Greensome competition was held, where some enjoyable competitive golf was played by 80 members.
