According to Nancy Kracke, director of community and staff relations for District 112, it was a personal student crisis involving only one student that forced school staff to cordon off that section of the school.
It was not a threatening situation, said Kracke.
The incident involved a vase but no weaponry, Kracke said.
There were absolutely no weapons of any kind involved in this incident, said Kracke.
Kracke said that the school liason officer was summoned. The Purple House was up and running again not long afterwards.
This time of year is tough on some students, she added.
