why does it say green day are indie? theyre punk is there gonna be any difference with the original albums??
In an earlier report it was said that the Kerplunk playlist will remain unchanged while the 39/Smooth re-release would contain bonus live material from '90 - '91.
I'm guessing the album art and whatnot will be different along with the cd-tops as well. If you own Kerplunk and/or 39/Smooth you allready know they aren't of great quality.
With these Warner releases they remaster it which I'm hoping will enhance the quaulity greatly. After all, under par quaulity of unknown/underground punk music in '91 and '92 is to be expected from an indie label due to budget and funds. With a major label remastering the records they'll be patched up with some of the newest and best technology of today.
I guess it's one of the benefits of releases on major labels.
I personaly don't mind the quality of the cd's in the versions I've got. They're not great but loveable none the less.
On the other hand some people are quality freaks. My buddy's ex-girlfriend was a pretty big Green Day fan but she hated the quality of the albums so she didn't listen to them.
I'll buy 'em both just to hear how much they can better the quality, and for the new supposed new live content on 39/Smooth.
I cant wait! i own Kerplunk and i know what you guys mean by the quality..
cant wait to buy 1,039/smoothed out slappy hours to see the difference. this is gonna take all the profits away from lookout records.
i will likely never stop defending green day musically, but their actions are becoming indefensible.
