Welsh Secretary Peter Hain swapped politics for pop music at a recent Snow Patrol gig.
He went to their homecoming concert in Belfast with his wife Elizabeth, sister Sally and niece Connie.
He has become the latest politician to rave about modern music, after Gordon Brown said he liked the Arctic Monkeys and Conservative Party leader David Cameron admitted he is a fan of The Smiths.
Mr Hain, who is also Northern Ireland Secretary, said: 'I listen to them all the time.
