CELEBUTANTE Nicole Richie is planning on following in the footsteps of her father Lionel Richie - and on-again, off-again bestie Paris Hilton - by launching a pop career.
The Simple Life star, who was adopted by the 80s singer when she was a young child, admits she is desperate to launch a music career.
Nicole, 25, insists if she can enjoy just a tiny percentage of the success her dad has had she will be delighted.
My whole goal in life is to be a singer. I really feel I am just starting in life, there are so many chapters coming up, she said.
Nicole has also revealed dad Lionel has been giving her advice about being a pop star, and father and daughter have been having heart-to-heart conversations about her weight.
The super-slim star, who has been plagued by anorexia rumours in recent months, told Top of the Pops magazine: We talk about everything and he points me in the right direction. He told me to keep my head on straight.
I've spoken to my dad about my weight as well.
He was concerned when he started hearing all these crazy things, but I told him I feel fine.
There's no word yet on how Richie's pop ambition will affect her recent reunion with Hilton. The pair ended their feud last month after a much-publicised break-up.
Hilton launched a pop career this year but while her debut single Stars Are Blind achieved success worldwide, her album Paris has failed to set the charts alight.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson was also eyeing a pop career.
