According to a report from Female First UK, Angelina says Madonna was open to criticism and problems because Malawi has no set guidelines for such cases.
According to an item on the entertainment website, she is quoted by Britain's New magazine: "Madonna knows very well that she adopted from a country without legal adoption, so it was an unusual situation."
Angelina - who also has a seven-month-old biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel with her partner Brad Pitt - insists she will not make the same mistake as Madonna next time she welcomes an unwanted child into her home.
The report claims she said: "I don't anticipate that being a problem for me because I don't intend to adopt a child from a country where there is no legal adoption."
In more Jolie news, Star Pulse is reporting that Christmas will be busy for the Jolie-Pitt clan. A report claims that they are preparing to celebrate Christmas three times this winter to include their adopted children's native traditions.
The rock star couple have two adopted kids - Cambodian-born Maddox, five and Zahara, one, from Ethiopia.
Jolie says, "Zahara's Christmas is January 8. With Maddox, it is the water festivals in Buddhism.
We're getting into all that with them."
