With such a heavy emphasis on MTV's "TRL" and BET's "106 Park," it's no wonder that artists rely on their video to get their music out. The quality of a video can make or break the song as well as the listener's perception of it.

How many times have you seen the video of your favorite song, hated it and never quite looked at the song the same way again?

On the contrary, a hot, well composed video can make you forget that you hate a song.

Video directors and music executives know this all too well. When labels allot a certain amount of money toward the promotion of an artist, most if not all of that budget is spent on videos.

Seeking out great directors with an excellent reputation is also paramount.
