Brickman is a platinum-selling recording artist who weaves an esoteric, new age piano sound to his recordings for a mood-setting evening of holiday selections as well as tracks from his latest album Escape. In a recent interview with The Citizens Voice, Brickman talked about his holiday shows. Everyone needs this time of year to take a relaxing getaway from our hectic schedules, and I think that s what my concerts provide, he said. Our concerts are well-rehearsed, image-filled journeys with a superb supporting cast of musicians, he added.
Brickman is scheduled to perform with acoustic violinist David Klinkenberg and vocalist Jake Simpson. I really think that the audience is in for a very special evening, Brickman said. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Brickman received formal training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, though he s largely self-taught.
For almost 10 years now, Brickman has also hosted a weekly radio show , Your Weekend With Jim Brickman, heard locally on Magic 93 on Sunday evenings. Brickman s new holiday album, Christmas Romance, is very much unlike his other two previous holiday releases. With Christmas Romance, we have really tried to set a mood and make this a very intimate listening experience that can really help to make the holiday special, Brickman said.
