The First Congregational Church Fountain Music Series will have its annual Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m.
Choir, soloists, organ, handbells, and orchestra will fill the sanctuary with sounds of the season. Musicians from Connecticut and New York conducted by Edwin R. Taylor will perform works by several composers and arrangers, including John Rutter, Sir David Willcocks and Camille Saint-Saens.
The concert will begin with the audience joining the musicians in singing the hymn O Come, All Ye Faithful. Later, performers will treat the audience to a recently unearthed medieval Christmas motet. The second part of the concert features the Oratorio de Noel by Camille Saint-Saens.
All Fountain Music Series events are free and open to the public. Future performances in the series include Jason Ham, euphonium soloist, Jan. 14; Frank Bowker, handbell soloist, Feb.
