Michael Jackson postpones 'Tokyo Christmas Celebration' appearance - Music

Michael Jackson has postponed his scheduled Dec. 19th appearance at the 'Tokyo Christmas Celebration' event in which fans would pay up to 400,000 yen ($3,386) to meet the artist at a Tokyo club. In a statement, Broderick Morris, CEO of Yokohama-based event organizer Positive Productions, said he and Jackson had decided to instead hold two separate events in March.

"We both wanted to make sure that the events were planned in a way so as to include as many of Michael`s friends and fans as possible," Morris said. The "Premium VIP Party" on March 8 will allow purchasers of 400,000 yen "platinum tickets" to meet and have their picture taken with Jackson, who will not perform at the event. "Fan Appreciation Day" will be held on March 9, with tickets costing 15,000 yen ($127).

The events will feature dancers performing to Jackson`s hits while the artist watches from a special area. Both events will take place at Tokyo Studio Coast, where the Dec. 19 event was to have been held.

"I will be attending these special events on March 8 and 9 in Tokyo, Japan," said Jackson in the statement released by Positive Productions. "Tokyo is such a wonderful place, and I look forward to speaking to my friends and fans at both events.
