David Brown has been owned by Textron as the sole shareholder since October 1998.
The company #x2019;s 13 900-m2 factory is located at 12 Birmingham street, Benoni Industrial, on the East Rand. Its product range includes spur and helical gear, custom-built gearboxes, geared motors, worm boxes and mobile equipment.
The company also provides after-sales services, as well as site services and asset management for drive systems.
David Brown, which has an annual turnover of more than R200-million and a current order book of over R210-million, employs 190 people and belongs to the IQSA and the CMA.
The main raw materials used by the company, which boasts ISO 9001 and 9002 rating standards, are steel and nodular iron castings, forgings and phosphorus bronze.
