I discovered when I popped into the record shop nearby Powell's one day when I was visiting friends in Portland. I asked the shop clerk to tell me which local bands were worth listening to. After a long enjoyable yet pretentious conversation where we espoused our views on musical super-niche-sub-sub-sub-genres, she introduced me to several local artists.
I spent a fortune. I really love Great name for a band. I didn't get to check them out at Koko the last time I was there, but they are playing : Shepherds Bush Empire.

If you managed to catch the Gene Simmons' 'Rock School' TV show, you'll know He's unique and has surprising presence for a boy his age. plays Shepard's Bush on . Bela Fleck has performed with some incredible artists including the legendary .

I remember kayaking to the gig in Eugene where there were only a few hundred people then seeing them a year or so later to a massive audience. They remind me of Oregon.
They never did really take off in the UK. Tickets available online @ or phone +44870 771 2000.
