JogjaTechno - Finnish mobile solutions provider Nokia is to launch Peer-to-peer Traffic Control, a solution that helps mobile operators better manage their data traffic by controlling the use of network resources by bandwidth hungry applications such as file sharing and voice over IP telephony (VoIP).
Nokia Peer-to-peer Traffic Control allows mobile operators to manage the bandwidth available for peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic, and thus balance the allocation of network resources. The centralized solution is implemented as a software upgrade to the Nokia Flexi Intelligent Service Node.
The solution identifies data traffic according to the type of service, for example file sharing, so that operators can treat that traffic in a way that best optimizes the use of network resources according to the operators business strategy.
