Burkey (as he s called), who we met shooting the , tipped us off to the Neo Trio s recent gig at Bertie s in Reading, PA, and we re glad he did. We sat down with bassist Craig Burkey and pianist/vocalist Cory Heller before the show.
The trio, which has been together for 12 years, also features Matt Cullen on drums.
The present-day band kicks a mix of originals plus classic and 80s and 90s rock with a twist not all of it was originally designed for piano. We re talking about The Clash, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello anything we can get away with as a piano trio, Cory notes.
