Published November 20th, 2006 in Since a lot of you enjoy reading these, here are some more Guns N Roses rumors concerning the new album Chinese Democracy
The song Better is the first single.
Better will be released Nov 21st.
Chinese Democracy will be out on the 28th.
Chinese Democracy doesn t actually exist and the name is a play on words.
The album is being shipped under a false name so it can come out under the radar. (More about this below).
Unfortunately, the only one of those rumors that seem likely is the last one, the album with be out next year. Anyway, if you are curious how the whole false name rumor was started (taken from mygnr.com):
Hello, I am deputy manager of HMV Guernsey, 2 hours ago I recieved a phone call from the manager (also a big GNR fan) telling me that we will be recieving a shipment of an album allegedly titled Blue Tree s and Greem Grass by a band called Far Downs on Wednesday afternoon for a November 20th release.
(More on this later)
This is a fairly large shipment we are recieving, ie it is the identical size shipment of the recent Girls Aloud Greatest Hits (sales are relative across seas folks, not to scare American fans). Not out of the ordinairy, but I know, as well as the next music fan does that no such band exists.
We believe that this is in fact Chinese Democracy and that the title is simply a smoke screen, our distributor can tell us no information other than the title and the pallets (containing both advertising stuff as well as the CD) cannot be opened until November 19th.
So if I m wrong shoot me, if I m right praise be to HMV.
Guns N Roses album pushed to 2007. Axl s label admit not knowing a thing about a November release.
Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy is now odds on to his records shops in 2007 after the band s label admitted this week they were none the wiser to a November release schedule.
Axl Rose had recently revealed his intention to get the $15m, ten-year-old project onto the shelves before the end of the year, and a press release for the Chinese Democracy Tour at the beginning of October 2006 also stated that there are only 13 Tuesdays left between now and the end of the year - dropping a hint that the album would be released on a Tuesday between October 3rd and December 19th.
However, it looks near impossible that the album will be released in time for Christmas as the band s label, Universal Records, claimed this week that they had yet to received any information regarding a release date.
With a likely four to six week turnaround required from GNR s management delivering the masterwork (not to mentioned publicity and promotion) it looks extremely unlikely the set will drop now until February, with January a traditional dead-zone for big new albums.
In other news, a new live DVD is in the pipeline for February.
Guns N Roses - Live In Chicago will be released on February 5th 2007 (we re sure of that), and was recorded at Chicago s Allstate Arena.
