Orangeville Chrysler Flames get past the Boston Pizza Canadiens. Tony Rose was the venue for an epic battle on Saturday between two very hardworking teams.
The Flames jumped out to an early lead when Kevin Paschalis scored a lovely goal coming down on his off wing with assists going to Tanner Buck and Alan Godbout.
The Habs got the equalizer late in the first period when Caleb Gonsalves scored with helpers going to Zachary Bell and Evan Moore.
The Flames leading scorer Matt Bogenrieder scored early in second to make it 2-1 on a great passing play from Myles "Mighty Mouse" Emoff and Ryan "Speed Demon" Twigg.
Several players on both sides had outstanding efforts including Luke Rosati, Tristan Williams and Ryan Harrison from the Habs and Andrew Baxendale, Richard Wilson and Jared Monahan from the Flames.
In spite of outstanding goaltending from Canadiens' netminder Liam McIllwraith, the Flames notched three third period goals that came courtesy of Tommy Wylie, Buck and Godbout with helpers going to Reese Shephard, Cameron Sullivan and Bogenrieder.
The Habs made a charge late in the game with a lovely goal from Ryan Bowie assisted by Riley Valade and Devon Stroud to make the score 5-2.
making several acrobatic saves to neutralize the very talented Canadiens' sharpshooters.
