Jonathan is really questioning Nate, but Nate is being pleasantly evasive, giving out nothing important. But he gets an earful later when Jessica ("Flicka") complains that she wasn't "clued in" about Cao Boi's ouster. She felt blindsided by the vote (which she was-obviously they'd figured that she would spill the beans to her best bud Cao Boi, and they'd have been right.
) After this little bitching session, Yul, Becky, and Candice are talking about Jessica's comments. Yul is particularly unhappy that she blabbed about this in front of Nate. They discuss their desired "boot order", and the feeling seems to be that maybe it should be Ozzy, Jonathan, and then Sundra.
Why Jonathan ahead of Sundra? With a Merge coming soon, they see Jonathan as more of a threat in individual challenges. Aitu, Day 16: Jonathan is reading the Treemail to them.
They get to pick two items from a "Survivor Catalog" to be their Reward (if they win, of course.) They all want peanut butter. Over at Raro, peanut butter is an easy choice too, but Brad wants potatoes, while the others want bread.
He points out, quite reasonably, that potatoes would last longer, and provide much-needed carbs for upcoming Challenges, but he is overruled by the others, who are just thinking of peanut butter sandwiches. Brad isn't happy, but as he tells us, "Gotta do what the majority votes, right?" Reward Challenge: this one is grueling.
Each tribe will select three swimmers and two puzzle-solvers. On Jeff's go, a swimmer will grab a club, swim a pretty long distance out to a platform, climb up to the top, and then leap off. In mid-air, they'll smash open one of a series of 6 plaster boxes, releasing a key.
Diving down to retrieve the key, they'll bring it to shore, whereupon the next swimmer will go out and do likewise. Once all the keys have been brought back, the puzzle-solvers will use them to unlock 6 locks securing a chest. Inside the chest will be puzzle pieces, which they'll assemble.
The first tribe to get their puzzle done wins Reward. Each swimmer must swim out at least once, and no swimmer may bring back more than one key at a time. What are they playing for?
Raro has indeed chosen to play for peanut butter and bread, while Aitu is going for peanut butter and potatoes (Brad should've been with those guys!) Aitu has to sit out three people, and they choose Jessica, Sundra, and "kidnapee" Nate. Jeff properly points out that, having kidnapped one of Raro's strongest players, they are now refusing to let him play, which probably means they don't trust him (which is, of course, true.
) Jeff tells them that the winners also get to send one of the losers to Exile Island. The teams take a moment to decide who does what, and Brad surprisingly insists that he should be one of the ones doing the puzzle for Raro. So for Raro, it will be Rebecca, Parvati, and Adam swimming, while Aitu will have Ozzy, Candice, and Yul.
It's raining (at least intermittently) throughout this Challenge, which adds to its difficulty (some of them look pretty cold.) First out are Ozzy and Rebecca, and damn are Rebecca's big boobs bouncing as she races out into the surf. She could put an eye out!
She tries to swim holding the club, but ever-clever Ozzy knows the wooden club will float, so he just throws it ahead, swims out to it, and then repeats the maneuver. Ozzy is a regular Aquaman, anyway, and he easily beats Rebecca to the platform. In fact, Rebecca looks bad-just exhausted.
She manages to climb the platform and leap out and smash a box, but she's got nothing left-she can't find the key, and swims back to shore without it. Meanwhile, Ozzy has returned with Aitu's first key, and Yul has already retrieved their second one and is on his way back to shore. Nate, who still has to sit with Aitu, seeing how Rebecca is struggling, calls over to Brad: "Why aren't you swimming?
" Brad responds: "Cause I'm better at puzzles." Nate looks unhappy. Rebecca staggers up to shore, and her bathing suit top has ridden up, fully exposing both her boobs (they are blurred for us, of course.
) Jenny calls to her to cover herself, but poor Rebecca is so exhausted she doesn't react at first. Finally she does get herself back into her top, and she literally collapses onto the mat as Adam races out to find her key. Meanwhile, Candice has broken the box, but can't find her key, and at Ozzy's urging she returns empty-handed.
Adam has finally gotten Raro's first key back to shore, and Parvati heads out. Ozzy, who has returned to the platform to find Candice's key, sees that, although she broke the box, the key had never fallen into the water. Not having a club, Ozzy leaps out and finishes smashing the box with his fist, then grabs the key underwater before it can even touch bottom!
Parvati has brought back Raro's second key, but Aitu is still ahead 3-2. After Yul and Adam each retrieve keys, it's 4-3. Parvati goes back and gets Rarro's 4th key, but Candice gets Aitu's 5th.
Ozzy makes quick work of getting Aitu's 6th and final key. Adam and Parvati get Raro's 5th and 6th, but by then Aitu has the puzzle done. Aitu wins Reward!
They send Adam off to Exile Island, and Nate finally gets to reunite with his Raro tribe.
