Human rights organizations have started legal proceedings to challenge the singer's plans, claiming rules were bent in her favour and now the father of the 13-month-old boy she's adopting claims he wasn't aware Madonna would be taking his son "for good."
Yohane Banda, an illiterate farmer, signed adoption papers earlier this month that allowed a Malawian judge to grant a temporary order for Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie to take his son David.
The man said he thought the pop star would take his son away and provide him with an education and that his child would return home when he grows up.

"Our understanding was that they would educate and take care of our son just as they were doing at the orphanage," he said, adding he had no idea of the significance of the papers he signed.
"Mr. Kilembe and the pastor explained to me that Madonna would take care of my son; I am just realizing now the meaning of adoption.

"
He said he has no copy of the adoption papers and the director of Child Welfare Services Penston Kilembe has all the documents.
"If we were told that she wants to take the baby as her own we could not have consented because I see no reason why I should give away my son," Banda said.
Madonna's Malawian lawyer has refused to comment.

David's mother died shortly after childbirth and Banda left his son in an orphanage. He lost two other young children to Malaria.
Madonna and Ritchie arrived in Malawi on Oct.

4 for an eight-day visit that included appearances for her charity Raising Malawi. She's also opening an orphanage for up to 4,000 children.
