COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Worldwide devoted fans of composer Wilhelm Richard Wagner s "The Ring of the Nibelung" have flocked to Orange County, Calif.
, for a showing of the opera cycle.
The cycle is running in Orange County until Wednesday, and is made up of four plays from the famed German composer and traditionally draws its loyal international fans to its performances no matter what, said the Los Angeles Times.
"I have mortgaged my house to go to The Ring.
I have quit my job. I ve done things," said Winnipeg, Canada, native June Slobodian, who saw the start of the opera cycle at the Orange County Performing Arts Center Friday. " The Ring is the most powerful work ever written.

"The Ring of the Nibelung" has about a $30 million economic impact on any community that can afford to put on the elaborate production because of the loyalty of its fans, the report said.
The Times said when the four-night performance in Costa Mesa was revealed, the arts center s box office was immediately beset by ticket requests from buyers around world.
