We have finally found a theatre production that has (mostly) erased the horror of the last play out of our minds. On Saturday night we saw a dance theatre show in Pittsburgh. It combined modern dance with other multimedia and live music.

The band, which consisted of a cellist, an electric bass player, and a percussionist, was excellent and wrote their own music. All three had performed at Carnegie Hall at least once and the cellist went to Julliard School of Music and has performed with an impressive list of famous musicians. The company has been around for 10 years and this show was a collage of some of their best work over that period.

It was awesome! There was a screen at the back of the stage, where they projected pre-recorded dancing and during one piece showed different views shot from a live camera (there must have been a camera somewhere near the front row on the floor and also one over head, which gave a bird's eye view). The first piece was one female dancer who used the pre-recording of the routine as a mirror image of what she was doing live.

Everything about the show was well-done, the costumes, the choreography, the dance, the music, the set and lighting. Worth every penny (which was not that much more than the piece-of-crap show we saw in Glen Falls). Granted, these are professionals and the last show was community, but still, you get the point.

We are now in Cleveland and will be until probably Saturday. We only have one morning show in Kirtland, OH, tomorrow, and are going to the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame in the afternoon. Our motel here at the Cleveland Internat'l Arpt is really nice.

I'm about to check out the hot tub and pool, there is laundry just next to our room, there is a fitness room, and best thing is: only $50 a night before taxes. It's a winner. The only downside about this week is that we have three shows on Friday at three different schools.

But after that, we only have to work on Monday and Tuesday and then have five days off. Score!
