Quick Music

This is utterly amazing music. I don't even know what to call this, its so unique. There's so much going on with these songs, so many layers of noise and melodies stacked up on each other.

Each song really is almost like a puzzle. I've put off reviewing this album for weeks now, because I still don't feel like I have a handle on it. I keep finding things beneath the surface of the music.

The arrangements and instrumentation are somehow both large, epic rock pieces and subtle, cerebral gems all at once. I can't recommend this album enough. Key Tracks-Wolf Like Me, A Method, Tonight
Now see, if more people had heard this I don't think the reaction to the Outsider would have been so ridiculously negative.

This is a mix that Shadow put together a few years back. It covers quite a range of styles, working with some really nice hip hop, funk, and the more contemplative tracks that Shadow is known for. I don't know how much of this is actually material created by Shadow, and how much is just other people's stuff that he's throwing his own beats on to, but either way its really nice.

About the only complaint I have is that this hour long mix is sequenced on to the cd as one track. So skipping to your favorite parts of the mix is kind of a pain in the ass. That aside this is worth hunting down.

The mix is diverse, and really pretty surprising (starting your mix with My Baby Mama? Really?) but its also just fucking cool.

Key Tracks-Um, there's only one track. But its a pretty cool track.
Alright, I have more to review, but honestly, I'm pretty sleepy.

So we'll come back to the rest at some point.
