Streisand can't sell $700 tix in Detroit -- big surprise, eh?
Toronto was happy to snap up the Oct. 18 date that Detroit is losing on this forthcoming Barbra Streisand tour.

Metro Detroiters opted to keep the money in their wallet instead of plumping for tickets to see Streisand on one more farewell tour.
It may seem odd, on the surface, because Detroit has always been a big Streisand town. She's got a lot of intense fans in this town.

Many of the folks who were happening young bachelors around town in 1961-2 when she played the Caucus Club still show up at her shows. But the great swath of fans in the middle range, who might be willing to pack their lunches for a month in order to afford a couple of hundred for two tickets ..

.those folks are not buying. Either they've been downsized, or their spouses or loved ones have, and they're worried.

Then again, maybe we're the smart ones. $700 for one seat, for one show? I'd pay that if we were allowed a miracle and a certain act or two was brought back from the dead for one last show.

What would you pay $700 for?
