Usually, news of a divorce calls for quiet reflection or sadness. On "The View," it calls for confetti. Rosie O'Donnell started off the show by making it seem like she was talking about the big Democratic victory in yesterday's election.

She said she "never expected anything like this" and how she was "over the moon." Conservative Republican Elisabeth Hasselbeck said she was "devastated." O'Donnell went on to say "it's the biggest news in the country, ladies and gentlemen, Britney Spears is leaving K-Fed!

" Then she called out "confetti!" and confetti rained down on the audience, while O'Donnell shouted, "on behalf of a happy America, welcome back Britney, we love you!" Meanwhile, Regis Philbin knows who's to blame for Britney getting K-Fed-up.

David Letterman. Philbin said on "Live With Regis and Kelly" that Letterman is always flirting with his female guests, even though he's "an old coot." He says "he seduces them with his penetrating eyes and his courtly manners.

" Spears made a surprise appearance on "Late Show" Monday night and Philbin says "two hours after Britney Spears left the David Letterman show, she gets a divorce." He says "what do you think that means?"
