The Botswana Football Association is insisting that its British coach Colwyn Rowe has not applied for the vacant Zambia post. The Football Association of Zambia (Faz) released Rowe's name on a five-man shortlist for the job along with former Togo boss Stephen Keshi, Brazilian Edson Silva, former Hungary coach Bertalan Bicskei and Englishman James Duffy. While Keshi has confirmed to the BBC that he has applied for the job, the Botswana FA insists that Rowe has not.
The general secretary of the Botswana, FA Thabo Ntshinogang, told BBC Sport: "The coach (Rowe) has informed me that he has never applied for that post." "If there's any denial, we would be very willing to confirm that it is him on the application details that we have at the FA." Faz has been looking for a replacement since Kalusha Bwalya quit his post in April.
