Kellypuffs - Not Just for Breakfast Anymore: Everything I know I learned on Schoolhouse Rock

Over at Raschi's blog, he's a Schoolhouse Rock video - the "I'm just a Bill" one in honor of our election.

Oh. My.

God. The memories come flooding back. Saturday morning cartoons, interspersed with Schoolhouse Rock educational music videos.

I bet I can still sing a lot of them by heart.

I'm just a bill,
Yes, I'm only a bill,
And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill.
It's a long long way to the capital city.

It's a long long wait while I'm sitting in committee.
But I know I'll be a law someday
At least I hope and pray
that I will,
but today I am still
just a bill.

I bet that's pretty close.

Not being a big student of American government (preferring to immerse myself in medieval English and European history - yes, I am a geek), probably the only things I still remember are from these videos.

I learned about conjunctions (Conjunction Junction), adverbs (Lolly, lolly, lolly, Get your Adverbs Here), the number zero (My Hero, Zero), grammar (The Tale of Mr. Morton):

Mr.

Morton is the subject of my sentence,
What the predicate says, he does.

A was even made (and I have a copy of it somewhere).

For you on this post-election day 1, thanks to , I bring you "I'm Only a Bill".

(sorry, Schoolhouse Rock didn't make a "Mid-term Election Upheaval" video).
