Shakira was the big winner at last week's Latin Grammys, as the singer took home five of the six awards she was nominated for. Her latest album 'Fijacion Oral Vol. 1' was judged Album Of The Year as well as Best Female Pop Vocal Album, also garnering the award for Best Engineered Album - the plaudits going to Gustavo Celis, Serban Ghanea, Mauricio Guerrero, Rob Jacobs, Kevin Killen and Dave Way and mastering engineer Vlado Meller.
Her single 'La Tortura' won Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year. Also meeting with a fair degree of success at the ceremony at New York's Madison Square Garden were Reggaeton act Calle 13, gaining awards for Best Urban Music Album for their eponymous debut, Best New Artist, and Best Short Form Music Video for 'Atrevete Te, Te!'
Elsewhere, Ricky Martin was presented with the accolade of 'Man Of The Year' on account of his campaign against trafficking in prostituted children.
