It looks like Snow Patrol won't have to worry about replacing a jailed keyboarist. Tom Simpson's charges of possessing cocaine, which stem from a July arrest ( read full story ) were not called into court yesterday (Sept. 25).
The move, which means prosecutors must re-file the case against the drugged-up rocker, lets Simpson off the hook, at least for the time being. That's probably great news to the British rock world: With Pete Doherty let out of dozens of drug charges and Amy Winehouse spiraling down into junkie problems the last thing the United Kingdom needs is a drug policy that starts putting rockers behind bars.
